Game Notes
The Bobcats came out firing from behind the arc. Samaria August got it going scoring back to back threes. Martinez-Sanz and Gagan then jumped in on the fun to give STU a 17-6 lead just six minutes into the first quarter. The Bobcats finished the quarter out 24-6, not giving up a point for four and a half minutes.
The second quarter was a little slower on offense but just as effective on defense giving up only eight points. STU's defense kept the Nighthawks under double digits for both quarters in the first half. Gagan scored eight of her 11-points in the first half.
The offense picked it back up in the third quarter scoring 21-points. Brooke Bogatz led the way with seven-points in the quarter. The defense also outrebounded Thomas 12-5 in the quarter and only gave up one free throw which was missed.
The fourth quarter was where the largest lead of the game was taken at 8:57 as STU went up by 35-points. Coach Walker turned to the bench to close out the game and that is exactly what they did. The Nighthawks were able to bring it down to 26-points but it would not be enough.
