MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 18, 2021) - No. 23 St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Tennis was defeated 5-2 by the No. 10 Louisiana State University-Alexandria Generals (2-1) on Thursday evening from the STU Tennis Courts.
SinglesÂ
- Amber Paterson started as the Bobcats top-single player for the match, but fell in straight sets (3-6, 0-6).
- Annie Carrera was defeated in a hard-fought, three-set match against Alicia Gomez (7-5, 6-2, 6-4).
- Lia Pena earned the first STU win of the ranked match-up, picking up a two-set victory (6-4, 6-0).
- Vanessa Centeno lost in two sets against Maria Alvarez (4-6, 3-6).
- Sofia De La Fuente was defeated in straight sets (2-6, 1-6) by Candela Boniviardi.
- Giovanna Paschoalin, from the six spot, earned the second Bobcats win of the match (6-2, 6-2) over Patricia Molina.
Doubles
- The duo of Pena and Carrera continued their winning ways, tallying the only doubles win for the Bobcats (6-0).
- Centeno and Paschoalin picked up a pair of points but were defeated (2-6).
- Paterson and Perez were also beaten in doubles action, falling (1-6).

The No. 23 Bobcats return to Sun Conference action on Saturday, March 27, to take on the Royals of Warner University from Lake Wales, Fla.
