MIAMI, Fla. (April 17, 2021) - St. Thomas University (STU) Softball (11-17) was swept in a doubleheader by Florida National University on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats dropped game one, 6-0, and fell in the second game, 6-5.

- Gilbert was hit by a pitch to open the game and was the only STU hitter to reach until Samaniego walked in the top of the fifth.
- Florida National had four consecutive runners reach base, including a bases-clearing the bases and taking a 3-0 lead.
- FNU added two more runs in the bottom of the third, taking a 5-0 lead.
- The Conquistadors took a 6-0 lead with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth.
- Hauck recorded the only STU hit of the day with a single to lead off the sixth inning.
- STU was shut out in the opener, falling 6-0.

- The Conquistadors were able to add a run quickly in the first, giving themselves a 1-0 advantage.
- Three walks to the Bobcats loaded the bases in the second. After an FNU pitching change, Descheene hit a double to left-center, scoring two runs.
- With a fly ball to right field from Spalding, Luna was able to score, putting the Bobcats up 3-1.
- Artiles doubled to left-center, allowing Descheene to score, bringing the score 4-1.
- Spalding added her second RBI of the game in the top of the fourth inning when she singled to center field, scoring Samaniego and putting the Bobcats over the Conquistadors 5-1.
- FNU was able to add two runs in the bottom of the fifth, bringing the score 5-3, still in favor of the Bobcats.
- Conquistadors tied the score at 5-5 in the sixth.
- Two doubles from FNU in the bottom of the seventh put them over the Bobcats 6-5 to close out the game.
