MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 24, 2021) - St. Thomas University Softball (13-19, 7-15 TSC) faced Thomas University (20-16, 11-11 TSC) in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon. Bobcats dominated the first game, winning 8-2. The win of game one marked the first Bobcat win in the matchup since 2014. Bobcats dropped game two with an extra-inning run by the Nighthawks with a 4-5 final.

- After an out to start the game, the Nighthawks responded with a home run, gaining a quick 1-0 advantage over the Bobcats.
- In the third, a bunt from Artiles scored Negron, tying the game 1-1.Â
- Bautista hit a three-run shot over the center-field fence, increasing the Bobcat advantage to 4-1 to close the third inning.Â
- In the sixth, a single from Guillermo scored Samaniego.
- Following the run, Negron hit a double, scoring Guillermo.
- Artiles then doubled, scoring Negron.Â
- Artiles was then able to score, putting the Bobcats up 8-1 at the end of the sixth.
- Thomas was able to add another run in the seventh but stranded runners on bases to close the game in the Bobcats' favor 8-2.

- The Nighthawks started game two similar to game one in scoring a run to start the game.
- A double from Gilbert tied the game at 1-1 early in the game.
- Nighthawks responded by adding another run in the top of the second.
- With a hit from Spalding, Samaniego was able to score, putting the Bobcats in the lead.
- Negron hit a triple in the fourth to score two, putting the Bobcats over the Nighthawks 4-1.
- The sixth added two runs for Thomas, tying the game at 4-4.
- Abbigail Smith came in to pitch in the sixth.
- Nighthawks were unable to add a run in the seventh, giving the Bobcats a chance to score the game-winning run.
- A walk to Artiles started the seventh for STU but was unable to send her home, sending the game into extra innings.
- Nighthawks were able to score the runner on second, leading them victorious over the Bobcats in game two 5-4.
