(August 19, 2021) – St. Thomas University's (STU) Volleyball team (2-1, 0-0 SUN) defeated Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) to open play in the STU Invitational hosted in the Fernandez Family Center. Gym. The match was a five-set thriller between the Bobcats and Tigers (19-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-15, 15-10).

- Olivet Nazarene is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.
- This is the second straight match that the Bobcat go five sets.
- STU was trailing 0-2 to open the match.
- Nunez-Casal led the way for the Bobcats with 12-kills and only one attacking error, she accumulated a .407 hitting percentage for the match.
- The reigning Sun Conference Defender of the Week, Grassi, continued to set a higher bar as she set another match-high record in digs with 34.
- The defense was hot for the Bobcats as the team totaled 18-blocks, the most in a match since September 18, 2019, against Keiser.
- St. Thomas had a .202 hitting percentage as a team and held Olivet Nazarene a .122 hitting percentage.
- There were three Bobcats in double figures with kills, Nunez-Casal (12), Chenault (11), and. Kendall Brock (11).
- Kyleigh Beecham recorded a double-double with 22-assists and 10-digs.
- Freshmen, Sana Dennis, led the way in blocks with five.
