- After a four-and-a-half-hour delay, the first pitch of the game was delivered at 7:00 p.m. by Chase Costello.
- Costello started the night with a three-up three down inning striking out the side to pick up his first three of what would be a 14-strikeout outing.
- Middle Georgia broke the ice in the fourth taking advantage of a costly Bobcat error to start the inning.
- St. Thomas had the offense going in the fifth as seven hitters made a plate appearance in the inning.
- Four straight batters reached base to begin the inning without recording an out.
- A joey Thompson single loaded the bases and set up the top of the order to deliver, and they did so.
- Andrew Fernandez tied the game with a sacrifice fly to score Alan Caretta.
- Josue Rangel then came up behind and delivered a two out, two-RBI single to left field to give STU the lead at 3-1.
- Caretta then came up big with the bat blasting a two-run shot to left field to give STU a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
- Costello had three straight hitless innings from the fifth to the seventh.
- Costello picked up his final three strikeouts in the final frame getting the last Knight looking on the outside corner.
