Game_Highlights
  • This was the sixth time the teams have faced off this season and third in the postseason so far.
  • Webber International had the Sun Conference series 2-1 over St. Thomas.
  • The Bobcats have since won both games on the postseason that took place at the Sun Conference Tournament at the beginning of May.
  • The game had a start time of 4 p.m. and after a batter and pitch in, the game was delayed due to inclement weather.
  • Straight from the delay, Jack Khawly got the scoreboard going early with a three-run blast to left field that put the Bobcats up 3-0 in the first.
  • Webber International was able to scratch one back in the bottom half to make it 3-1.
  • Chris Schoeller got in on the long ball action adding a homerun of his own to left field to extend the game to 4-1 in the top of the third.
  • The Warriors would slowly start to inch their way back with two runs in the seventh and scoring the tying run in the eighth.
  • St. Thomas had a great opportunity to take the lead in the top of the 10th but was robbed of a run by the WIU right fielder who made a tremendous catch to end the inning.
  • Gio Soto stranded the bases loaded in the bottom half of the 10th with a strikeout.
  • Webber International took advantage of a leadoff baserunner and a pair of walks to drive the sacrifice fly that was needed to end the game in walk-off fashion in the 11th.
