MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (August 25, 2022) – The receiving votes St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer team (2-1) picked up their second win of the season defeating The Master's University (0-2-1), 2-1, from AutoNation Field on Thursday evening. This marks the 150
th career-win for Head Coach,
Michelle Smith. This is the first official game on AutoNation Field after the dedication on August 24.

Game Notes
- Penaranda got her second start of the season and played all 90-minutes and picked up nine saves.
- The Master's jumped on the board first however with a goal in the 29th minute.
- The ball trickled off a defender and the shot was jolted passed the keeper.
- Megan Velazquez would not let the Bobcats go through another half scoreless.
- The junior got a perfect through ball from De Leon who led Velazquez to a one-on-one against the goalkeeper.
- This game took a much different approach than the last seeing much more offense than defense.
- Graduate student, Karina Medina broke the tie in the 70th-minute after three straight shots were deflected.
- Medina used her left foot to push the ball into the top left corner out of reach from the Mustang keeper.
- STU's freshmen keeper, Penaranda, picked up her second career win.
- The Bobcat defense only allowed one corner kick all game and outshot the Mustangs 19-14 although TMU had 10 on-goal, one more than STU.
- Medina is the first player this season to score in two different games.
