WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 1, 2023) – What a night of volleyball was had from the Student Life Center on the campus of Keiser University. St. Thomas Volleyball (22-2, 13-0 SUN) came out and brought it all against the Seahawks (28-10, 8-5 SUN) taking the four-set match 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 25-21. This marks the 17
th straight win for the Bobcats, extending the program's longest win streak. The team's 22
nd win is now the most in a single season for Head Coach
Whitney Battoe. Overall, Battoe is now 71-22 in her coaching career and 42-10 in conference action.
The records continue to flow in this program as
Sana Dennis etches her name in Bobcat history a week after teammate
Tayla Barnes did. Dennis recorded just the fourth double-double in program history in kills and blocks. Dennis was the key component in the victory today recording 10 kills and a career-high 12 blocks. Barnes was right there with Dennis collecting 12 kills and five blocks. The 12 kills tie a career-high and gives her a new season high.
As a team the Bobcats had 17 blocks the most since September 18, 2019 against Keiser when the team had 18. IT's also good for the third most in program history.
Amanda Allende had a great offensive night with her ninth double-double of the season collecting 15 kills and 13 digs. She also tacked on three blocks while swinging .371.
Alexandra MacAskill was a big part of the block party with six for a STU career-high. She also added six kills and 13 digs.
Alexandra Bruno was just short of a double-double with eight kills and eight digs.
Bianca Grassi led all STU players with 15 digs while adding six assists.
Payton Bertke continues to show why she is the best setter in the conference with 45 assists, six kills, 10 digs, and a block. This is her ninth double-double of the season and her 15
th 30-plus assist performance. The freshmen led the offense to swing a .312 clip as a team.
St. Thomas will conclude the regular season on the road in Brunswick, Ga. against the College of Coastal Georgia on Saturday, November 4 at 2 p.m.
