MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 9, 2023)- The St. Thomas University (STU) #8 Baseball team defeated the #20 Reinhardt in dominating fashion in game one. The Bobcats offense was churning on all cylinders, and Jaun Marulanda had a great night on the mound.
 
The Eagles started the game fast with a home run to left field. That didn't affect the Bobcat hitters any, with Joey Thompson singling to second base, and Kevin Moreno coming up right after and blasting one to left field.
 
After a few quiet innings with both pitchers battling, the Bobcats were able to put on three more in the bottom of the sixth inning after some craziness. STU really took advantage in the bottom of the seventh. With Joey Thompson getting on with a walk, and Kendry Noriega getting on after being hit, Robin Fernandez stepped into the box driving both in with a single to left center. 
 
The Bobcats weren't done in the bottom of the seventh, as Alan Caretta homered to left field driving in two more. Despite the score being 10-1 heading into the top of the ninth, the Eagles were able to make it 10-6. It wouldn't be enough however and the Bobcats were able to win 10-6.
