MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (May 22, 2023) – History continues to be etched in the Men's Tennis program as the team earns its first All-American honor. Raul Safont-Martinez has become the first earning a Second-Team recognition.
 
The junior went 19-10 on the year including both the fall and spring season. Safont-Martinez went 14-8 in just the spring season alone at the one spot at singles going 4-2 in conference action. The Spaniard led the Bobcats to their second national tournament appearance in three years and fourth overall in program history.
 
In doubles play, Safont-Martinez went 13-10 overall and 12-8 in the spring season, going 3-3 in conference action and switching around courts until finally finding a home on court three with Bernardo Tajada and going 6-2 there.
 
St. Thomas went into the tournament as the 15^th seed, the second highest seeding in program history. It was the first time since 2012 that the Bobcats were ranked 15^th after starting off the season just receiving votes.
 
Safont-Martinez was also named an All-Conference Second-Team member.
