Tucker's 3-0 Day Leads the Way for (RV) Wrestling at the AAC Crossover Duals

CLEVELAND, Ga. (January 27, 2024) – St. Thomas Wrestling traveled to the Peach State compete against conference foes at the AAC Crossover Duals on Saturday. St. Thomas went 2-1 on the day defeating Montreat and Truett McConnell, while falling to no. 16 Reinhardt.
 
St. Thomas 30, Montreat 24
  • St. Thomas won six of the 10 matches in the dual.
  • Connor Hueck started things off with a 14-10 decision win having seven near-fall points to guide his victory.
  • Khalil Tucker followed suit with a first period tech fall getting an early takedown and stacking 14 near-fall points right after for 17-0 win in two and a half minutes.
  • Thomas Williams picked up a win via Forfeit to extend the early lead to 14-0 over the Cavaliers.
  • Noah Horst picked up the fourth straight win by major decision at 11-3.
  • Kade Clute took advantage of his only takedown and turned the match in his favor with a pin at the four-minute mark.
  • Shemar Barthelus won the Bobcats sixth consecutive match going back -to-back in win by pin.
  • Bathelus took advantage of the Cavaliers choosing bottom in to start the third period and pinned Caleb Johnson-White 13 seconds in.
  • Estaban Hoyos picked up the forfeit win in the 184-bout for the final win for STU in the dual.
 
St. Thomas 41, Truett McConnell 12
  • St. Thomas dominated the first seven matches to take aa
  • Connor Hueck picked up his second win of the day to kick things off in the dual against Truett McConnell.
  • Hueck pinned Tate Thomas 33 seconds into the contest.
  • Khalil Tucker came in and won by decision at 8-3.
  • Thomas Williams had three takedowns in his way to a major decision at 14-0.
  • Lane Wishart picked up the first period pin after his second takedown.
  • Noah Horst had a first period tech fall with a quick takedown and 12 straight near-fall points.
  • Kade Clute had his second win of the day by decision at 10-3 with three takedowns and ride time.
  • Shemar Barthelus had his second win as well with a first period pin a minute and 15 seconds in.
  • Jairo Caceres grinded out the final win of the match holding of Hester for a 11-6 decision win.
 
St. Thomas 9, #16 Reinhardt 44
  • Tucker went 3-0 on the day with a third period takedown to secure the 8-3 decision win.
  • Jairo Caceres was the only other Bobcat to pick up a win with a first period pin after a takedown at the 1:57 mark.
  • St. Thomas fell in eight of the 10 matches.
