MIAMI, Fla. (October 5, 2024) - The (RV) St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Soccer team took to Orange Bowl Field in Miami, Fla. to face off against Florida Memorial University for the second Battle of the Miami Gardens this season. The match against the Lions ended in a draw, 0-0, bringing the Bobcats overall record to 4-1-4, and their Sun Conference record to 2-1-1.
There was a lot of back and forth in the match, leading to a slow start. The Bobcats notched three shots in the first half, all three of which were taken by Gabi Cimino. The Lions recorded two shots in half one, giving
Isabella Penaranda two saves. The game remained scoreless into the halftime break.
The Bobcats turned it up a notch in the second half, recording five shots compared to the Lions' one. Two of those shots came from Cimino, adding to her tally with a total of five. Maria Eduarda Mendes,
Rebecca Louis, and
Dayanara Monetti each notched a shot as well. The clock ran out before the Bobcats could get on the board and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
