Lakeland, Fla. – Highlighted by a historic showing from Martin Ahlstrom on Saturday morning, the St. Thomas Men's Cross Country Team finished third as a team at the Sun Conference Championship while the Women placed fifth. 
 
INSIDE THE MEET:

Course: Holloway Park (Men 8K | Women 6K) 
Field: Men 74 competitors | Women 68 competitors  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN):  

• Ahlstrom won the Championship with a 25:45.0 run. 

• Roger Reyes crossed the finish line at the 26:54.8 mark to take ninth. 

• David Perez finished 11th using a 27:16.6 time 

• Jonathan Petit-Frere used a 27:21.7 showing to finish 12th. 

• Connor Glass placed 26th with a 28:56.8 time 

• Matthew Seibel recorded a 29:22.2 time to finish 33rd. 

• Parker Doll tallied a 29:41.9 time to take 38th. 

• Christopher Reid (30:03.3), Osvaldo Cruz (30:10.4), Deangelo Griffith (31:51.1), Darlon Nelson (32:20.4) and Joshua Anderson (37:28.4) all ran but did not earn points for the Bobcats. 

 
NOTEWORTHY (MEN): 

• Ahlstrom was name the Sun Conference Runner of the Year and a member of the All-Conference First Team. 

• Reyes, Perez and Petit-Frere all received Second-Team Distinction. 

HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN):  

• Isabella Marty cracked the top-10 with a 24:05.6 time that placed ninth. 

• Aquilino Kaycie recorded a 25:17.8 time that took 15th. 

• Ahila Sandifer and Valeria Castillo finished back-to-back behind 29:35.0 and 29:36.9 runs which placed 45th and 46th. 

• Wislande Pierre-Louis and Amaurri Rhett rounded out STU with 30:30.3 and 31:32.1 times that finished 49th and 51st. 

 
NOTEWORTHY (WOMEN): 

• Marty garnered All-Conference Second Team honors.
