Miami Gardens, Fla. – Highlighted by Roger Reyes' top finish on Friday, the St. Thomas University cross country opened its 2024 campaign at the FAU Invitational with the men placing fourth in the 5K race.

INSIDE THE MEET:
Final: St. Thomas, fourth of 12 teams (MEN), no team score (WOMEN)

HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN): 

• Roger Reyes was the first runner to cross the finish line, completing the 5K in 15:23.71
• David Perez ran a 16:25.34 time to finish 20
• Jonathan Petit-Frere and Parker Doll finished within three seconds of each other behind times of 16:40.89 and 16:43.62.
• Matthew Seibel crossed the finish line at the 17:02.82 mark.
• Osvaldo Cruz recorded a 17:22.22 time.
• Connor Glass ran a 17:36.97 time.
• Jamari Benjamin recorded an 18:02.94 time.
• Deangelo Griffith crossed the finish line at the 18:15.49 mark.
• Christopher Reid and Darion Nelson finished back-to-back behind times of 18:49.29 and 18:59.15.
• Joshua Anderson posted a 21:42.70 time.

HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN): 

• Isabella Marty was the first Bobcat to finish behind a 20:38.96 time.
• Kaycie Aquilino recorded a 21:21.49 time.
• Ahila Sandifer and Maydine Nichols rounded out STU with 25:21.47 and 26:44.31 runs.

INSIDE THE RACE:

• The Men's 5K featured 84 runners while the women's fielded 76.
