Cacciabue Named CSC Academic All-American

Miami Gardens, Fla. – Excelling on the pitch and in the classroom at a level never before seen at St. Thomas University, Guido Cacciabue from the sixth-ranked Men's Soccer Team was named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) for a STU-record third-straight year on Tuesday afternoon with Second Team distinction.

To be eligible for Academic All-American status, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a cumulative grade point average above a 3.50 while either competing in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in 66 percent of them.

A First-Team All-Sun Conference honoree, Cacciabue played in 15 games with 13 starts for the Bobcats in 2024, scoring a team-high eight goals along with five assists for 21 points. He helped STU climb to the number one ranking in the NAIA Poll for the first time in program history this fall while contributing a goal during the record-setting 10-0 victory against Warner which set the bar for the most goals scored in a game on the Bobcats' home field.

Over the course of his career, Cacciabue found the back of the net 33 times while tallying 20 assists for 86 points. He earned NAIA All-American accolades in 2023 and 2022 while powering the Bobcats to the NAIA National Championship Semifinals for the first time in program history in 2023.
