WALESKA, Ga. (December 12, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team faced off against Reinhardt University for their for first match up in another road stint. The Bobcats fought hard against the Eagles, but they ultimately fell in the match up 58-39.
The Eagles kicked off the match up strong, outscoring the Bobcats 10-5 in the first quarter.
Jaliyah Weekes led in quarter one with four points for STU while
Sophie Vandyke led with four rebounds. The Eagles outscored the Bobcats in quarter two, 19-11.
Joey Delancy started her hot streak in the second quarter, putting up four points. St. Thomas trailed, 29-16 heading into the halftime break.
St. Thomas attempted to narrow the gap in the second half, scoring 10 points to the Eagles' 16 in quarter three. Delancy picked up another 12 points in the second half, finishing the game with a double-double performance with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats. Vandyke added another five rebounds, finishing with 11 in the match up.
Jasmine Worthy also had a notable performance, entering the game and putting up a total of nine points for the Bobcats.
Reinhardt held the lead against St. Thomas, defeating the Bobcats 58-39. Up next, the Bobcats will continue their road trip in Laurinburg, NC where they will face off against St. Andrew's University. The match up will take place on Friday, December 13th at 5:30 p.m.
