STERLINGTON, La. (February 9, 2024) – The St. Thomas University (STU) Baseball team defeated the Freed-Hardeman Lions 9-2 in the second game of the Cajun Collision.
Juan Polo was stellar in his start going 5.1 innings, eight strikeouts, 0 hits, and giving up just two runs.
Angelo Piloto was seeing the ball at the plate as he went 3 for 4, with three RBI's. The Bobcats dropped the second game of the double header 4-3 against #5 Louisiana State Shreveport.

Game One vs. Freed-Hardeman

1st Inning
- Matt Granato and Kendry Noriega hit back to back singles to start the inning.
- Luis Rodriguez kept it going with another single, which scored Granato. Bobcats 1-0
- Angelo Piloto got his first of the game which was a single that was able to get Noriega across the plate. Bobcats 2-0
- Chris Schoeller hit the fifth single in a row, driving home pinch runner Yorielo Oniel. Bobcats 3-0
- Robin Fernandez was able to put the ball in play that gave enough time for Schoeller to come home. Bobcats 4-0
3rd Inning
- After Kendry Noriega drew a walk, Angelo Piloto stepped into the box and knocked a double to score him. Bobcats 5-0
- Robin Fernandez drove Piloto in for the score with a single down the right field line. Bobcats 6-0
4th Inning
- The Lions were able to put up their first run of the ballgame. Bobcats 6-1
- After Lucas Lopez drew a walk, a few batters later Luis Rodriguez hit one up the middle to score him. Bobcats 7-1
6th Inning
- The Lions added their final run on a sacrifice fly. Bobcats 7-2
- Matt Granato drilled a double to bring in Yordielo Oniel. Bobcats 8-2
- Piloto continued his hot streak with a single that was able to get Granato across. Bobcats 9-2

Game Two vs. LSUS

1st Inning
- After a double followed by a single, LSUS added a run to open the ballgame. Pilots 1-0
2nd Inning
3rd Inning
- LSUS added three more in the bottom of the third. Pilots 4-1
4th Inning
- After a couple of singles to load the bases, Piloto was able to score from a passed ball. Pilots 4-2
6th Inning
- Luis Rodriguez blasted one to center field to make it a one run game in hopes of giving STU momentum, but the Bobcats would fall 4-3.
