CLEVELAND, Ga. (March 14, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Lacrosse team faced off against Truett-McConnell University on Thursday evening, defeating them and earning their third straight win. The Bobcats won the match up 18-9 against the Bears, with Kaitlyn Chmelir leading the charge with six goals.
Right from the start, St. Thomas asserted their authority in the game. Led by Kaitlyn Chmelir, who netted an impressive six goals, St. Thomas surged ahead early and never looked back. Jorja Schooler also proved to be instrumental on the field, notching three goals and two assists. Heavenlee Nichols showcased her scoring ability with two goals, further bolstering St. Thomas' lead.
As the match progressed, St. Thomas continued to exert pressure, maintaining their lead with a combination of skillful offense and disciplined defense. Paige Peters played a pivotal role, contributing both as a scorer and a facilitator with one goal and two assists. Defensively, Emily Dawson had seven crucial saves to deny Truett-McConnell any foothold in the game.
