DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 12, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Cheer and Dance team traveled to Daytona Beach, Fla. this week to compete in the NCA and NDA Championships this weekend. The Bobcats had stellar performances at the competition, with the Cheer squad coming in third place in their group and the Dance team coming in first.

On the Cheer side, the Bobcats competed against two other teams in the Intermediate Small Coed NAIA group. St. Thomas advanced to the Finals, where they faced Roosevelt University and Peru State College. The Bobcats finished in third with a raw score of 77.9667 and an event score of 84.3981. 

On the Dance side of things, the Bobcats competed against four other teams for the top spot. St. Thomas competed in the Jazz NAIA group, against Central Methodist University, Point Park University, Stephens College and Montreat College. The Bobcats had a stellar preliminary performance, advancing them to the final competition. The Dance crew placed first in their division, finishing ahead of other finalists, Central Methodist University and Point Park University. St Thomas had a raw score of 60.8, finishing with an event score of 86.8571.
