Lake Wales, Fla. – The 11t-ranked St. Thomas Volleyball Team extended its season-opening winning streak to 15 games on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Warner 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-15) in Sun Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• Set 1 –The Bobcats scored the opening point of the match and never trailed in the first set, creating a double-digit lead at 16-6. 

• Set 2 – After trading the opening eight points of the second set, STU used a 6-1 stretch to pull ahead 10-5. The Bobcats kept the lead above four for the duration of the stanza. 

• Set 3 – St. Thomas scored five-straight after trailing early 3-2 to create a 7-3 lead and kept the advantage for the rest of the set. 

 
NOTEWORTHY: 

• Maria Eduarda Ferreira Ramos recorded six kills. 

• Bianca Grassi tallied 10 digs with two service aces. 

• Madelynn Coates tied for the team lead with two service aces. 

• Payton Bertke dished out 19 assists. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• STU finished the match with 24 kills on a .302 hitting percentage versus 22 kills on a .024 clip for the Royals. 

• St. Thomas served eight aces while Warner. tallied three. 

• The Bobcats boasted four solo blocks, the host recorded two assisted blocks.
