Miami Gardens, Fla. – Following a Championship run in a field of 59 competitors,
Kris Ketchum from the 17t-ranked St. Thomas Men's Wrestling Team was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Wrestler of the Week.
Kicking off play in the 174 lb division with a pinfall, Ketchum added a pair of technical falls and one major decision to secure a spot in the semifinals. Punching his ticket to the finals via forfeit in the semis, Ketchum blanked host Missouri Valley and seventh-ranked Francis Morrissey 7-0 in the Championship round.
Ketchum is currently the fifth-ranked wrestler in the 174 lb weight class. He is the second Bobcat this season to garner Wrestler of the Week accolades, joining
Rocky Raby who received the distinction en route to NAIA National Wrestler of the Week on Nov. 25, 2024.
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Cumberland Open in Lebanon, Tenn.
