Miami Gardens, Fla. – After leading their respective teams this past week, the Sun Conference honored St. Thomas University Women's Volleyball's
Payton Bertke and Men's Cross Country's Parker Doll with Setter and Men's Runner of the Week distinction.
Bertke repeated as the League's Setter of the Week after averaging 11.25 assists over eight sets. She recorded a double-double behind 44 assists and 10 digs against Florida National before logging 46 assists against Webber International.
On the year, Bertke ranks eighth in the NAIA with a 10.45 assist per set rate, masterminding a Bobcats' attack that boasts a .262 team hitting percentage which sits seventh.
Traveling to the Ave Maria Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11, Doll finished .4 seconds ahead of his Gyrene counterpart to finish first overall in the four-mile race with a 20:32.9 time. The Meet featured 76 participants from five National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) programs and two from the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II.
It is his second Men's Runner of the Week selection this season.
