Women's Volleyball Advances To Saturday's Sun Conference Championship Final With 3-1 Victory Over Keiser

Miami Gardens, Fla. – Kicking off the 2025 Sun Conference Women's Volleyball Championships on Friday evening, St. Thomas University use a .363 hitting percentage with four Bobcats hitting over .400 to defeat fourth-seeded Keiser 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-13, 27-25)

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Bobcats scored the opening three points of the match and never trailed in the opening set, creating a double-digit advantage at 22-12. 

  • Despite holding a late 23-20 lead late in the second set, Keiser ended the stanza with the final five points to tie the overall score. 

  • After trading the initial 18 points of the third frame, the Bobcats used a 5-1 stretch to pull ahead 15-10 and held the visitors to one run of consecutive points down the stretch. 

  • The Bobcats recovered from a late 6-0 Seahawks' rally that propelled them to set point at 24-23 with the ensuing point to even the score at 24-all, responding to a Keiser tally with three-straight to end the match. 

NOTEWORTHY: 

  • Ranya Mehta paced the offense behind 16 kills on a .444 hitting percentage. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

  • The Bobcats ended the match with 62 kills on a .363 hitting percentage, KU tallied 45 on a .153 clip. 

  • STU served eight aces while the visitors logged nine. 

  • St. Thomas recorded four solo blocks and eight assisted blocks versus one solo and 10 assisted for Keiser. 

  • The Bobcats held a 54-41 advantage in digs

The Bobcats await the winner of the Southeastern vs New College of Florida Semifinal matchup in the Finals on Saturday, Nov. 15 with first serve set for 4:00 pm.
