Mt. Vernon, Ga. – Getting their first taste of Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play on Saturday at the Baron Duals, the St. Thomas University Men's Wrestling team earned victories over host Brewton-Paker and West Virginia Tech by scores of 34-12 and 40-9 while dropping a 44-6 decision to Cumberland University. The previous day, the Bobcats fell 28-23 to Andrew College.


HOW IT HAPPENED vs ANDREW COLLEGE:
  • Connor Hueck won a 10-0 major decision in the 125 pound bout.
  • Grady Bryant extended the Bobcats lead with a 7-6 decision in the 133 pound dual.
  • Jerry Molina was pinned in the 141 division.
  • Lane Wishart fell in the 149 pound round.
  • Diego Escalante dropped the 157 round matchup to make it 18-7.
  • Jvier Romeus fell in the 165 division.
  • Tehran Piza won a 16-1 technical fall in the 174 round to make it 23-12.
  • Ghee Rachal won a 21-6 technical fall at the 184 pound tilt to make it 23-17.
  • Jairo Caceses fell at the 197 round contest.
  • Ralph Riche ended the contest with a pinfall.

HOW IT HAPPENED vs CUMBERLANDS:
  • Cumberland swept the 125-197 lb matchups
  • Riche pinned his Cumberland counterpart in the 285 pound division.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED vs BREWTON PARKER:
  • Hueck won a 20-4 technical fall in the 125 lb contest.
  • Bryant edged his PBC counterpart in the 133 matchup 2-1.
  • Smith cruised to an 18-3 technical fall at the 141 lb flight.
  • Romeus prevailed 11-8 in the 165 lb tilt.
  • Piza took a 12-4 major decision in the 174 pound dual.
  • Rachal took a 19-4 technical fall at the 184 pound matchup.
  • Cacares took a 2-0 decision at the 197 flight.
  • Riche pinned his opponent at the 285 matchup.

  • Smith prevailed 7-0 at the 141 lb division.

  • Rachal pinned his opponent at the 197 division.
  • Riche pinned his opponent in the 285 flight.
