Miami Gardens Fla. – Kicking off the 2025 Cruzin Classic on Tuesday afternoon against nationally-ranked Indiana Wesleyan, The St. Thomas University Women's Basketball team defeated the 19th-ranked Wildcats 67-53.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- STU scored eight of the initial 10 points of the contest to quickly take an 8-2 lead, holding IWU without a run of consecutive points for the entire first quarter to hold a 19-6 advantage.
- The Bobcats extended their lead to 16 at 23-7 early in the second half, only for Indiana Wesleyan to hold the host without consecutive points for the rest of the half to boast a 31-30 lead at the break.
- The Bobcats reclaimed the lead off back-to-back baskets to start the second half, scoring nine-straight after Indiana Wesleyan knotted the score at 37-all to take a 46-37 advantage with 27 seconds remaining in the third quarter. IWU ended the frame with an and-one to make it 46-40.
- St. Thomas prevented IWU from creating a run of consecutive points for the entire fourth period, extending their lead to double-digits at 59-49 and expanding it to 14 at 67-53.

- STU went 25-59 from the field, 8-29 from beyond the arc and 9-20 from the free throw line. Indiana Wesleyan went 16-55, 5-25 from three-point range and 16-23 from the free throw line.
- STU held a 43-35 advantage in rebounds.
- The Bobcats forced 16 turnovers, resulting in 16 points. The visitors scored five points off 12 turnovers.
- STU recorded eight steals and two blocks versus eight steals and four blocks for the Wildcats.
