Ketchum's Finals Run Highlights Men's Wrestling At NAIA Championship

Wichita, Kan. – Highlighted by Kris Ketchums' historic run in the 174 LB bracket, the St. Thomas University Men's Wrestling Team sent five Bobcats to compete against the best of the best from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) at the 2025 National Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Opening play with an 11-0 major victory over Cameron Nesbit, third-seeded Ketchum advanced to the quarterfinals to garner All-American honors behind an 18-2 technical fall against No. 14 Devin Crawford before a 4-0 triumph over sixth-seeded Garcia Roman moved him into the semifinals. Becoming the first Bobcat to advance to the Championship Round behind an 8-7 victory over seventh-seeded Francis Morrissey, Ketchum dropped a 5-4 decision to No. 1 seed Alex Reynolds to finish second.
  • Eighth-seeded Thomas Williams earned All-American honors in the 141 Division after cruising into the quarterfinals via an 18-6 major victory over Noah Parmelee and 15-0 technical fall against Channing Porter. Being sent to the consolation bracket after an 11-0 setback to top-seeded Carson Taylor, Williams sandwiched a 4-1 victory against Tyler Deen and 6-2 decision over No. 6 Creighton Baughman with a 7-3 loss to fourth-seeded Kael Brisker to place seventh.
  • After falling in the opening round of the 125 LB bracket in a 6-5 decision to second-seeded Trevor Marsman, Conner Hueck pinned Brian Peck in the consolation bracket before dropping a 9-4 decision to Clarence Lee-Green.
  • David Pierson fell in the opening round of the 149 LB bracket via a 4-3 decision to 12th-seeded Kristofer Arrey before ending his run in the consolation bracket first round.
  • Joining Ketchum in the 174 bracket, Jevion Ross dropped an 18-3 contest to top-seeded Reynolds in the opening round before falling in his first matchup in the Consolation pool.
