MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 7, 2025) - The #19 St. Thomas University (STU) Softball team took on Webber International University on Friday evening to kick off 2025 Sun Conference play. Natalie Kopicova, Mya Achenbach, and Gabriella Gilbert each picked up a home run to secure the 3-1 victory over the Warriors in game one.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third, when Kopicova picked up the first run for the Bobcats with a solo-home run to left field.
• Gilbert shot another one over the fence for the Bobcats, putting STU up 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
• The Warriors responded with a homer of their own in the top of the fifth, narrowing the gap 2-1.
• Achenbach finished it off for the Bobcats with a homer over the left center fence to secure the victory, 3-1.
• This win brings the Bobcats to an overall record of 14-3 and Sun Conference record of 1-0.
• Anna Toon earns the victory for the Bobcats recording seven innings pitched and seven strikeouts. This win brings her record to 9-1 this season.
