SARASOTA, Fla. (April 3, 2025) - The (RV) St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Sarasota, Fla. on Thursday afternoon for another Sun Conference match up, this time against
New College of Florida. The Bobcats defeated the Mighty Banyans 18-4 in the meeting, bringing their conference record to 2-3, with two meetings left in the season.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Hailey Joselyn kicked it off for the Bobcats, putting up the first goal in the first 50 seconds of the game.
- Caitlyn Sgambellone, Kylie Lubrant, and Billi Legg each added a goal in the first, putting the Bobcats up 4-1 at the end of the quarter.
- The second quarter saw the same drive from the Bobcats, with five more goals in the quarter, Lubrant and Joselyn each picking up two in the second, while Jenna Lytch and Alex Fernandez picked up their first goals of the match. STU led 9-2 heading into the halftime break.
- Seven goals were scored in quarter three, Morgan Maseth, Jewell Milliman, and Paige Beardsley adding their name to the list of scorers against the Mighty Banyans.
- The Bobcats topped off the game with two more goals in the fourth, putting them up 18-4.
- Milliman had three draw controls in the game, which officially brings her to 100 career draw controls.
- Joselyn led the team in points, with four goals and four assists for a total of eight.
- Lubrant led the charge with five goals for the Bobcats.
- STU had an impressive 28 shots on goal, holding New College of Florida to only seven in the meeting.
Up next, the Bobcats will head to Babson Park, Fla. to face off against Webber International University on Wednesday, April 9th, before heading home to host Keiser University on Saturday, April 12th at 11 a.m.
