St. Louis, Mo. – Competing against four nationally ranked opponents over two days, the ninth-ranked St. Thomas Women's Volleyball team went 2-2 with victories over No. 16 Viterbo (25-21, 25-21, 25-14) and No. 20 Midland (25-14, 25-23, 31-33, 25-23) while falling to host No. 19 Missouri Baptist (26-24, 27-25, 22-25, 24-26, 15-9) and No. 3 Corban (23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 20-25).

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
- Set 1 – Trailing midway through the opening set 18-15, the Bobcats flipped the advantage behind a 4-0 run and never trailed down the stretch.
- Set 2 – The Bobcats responded to a 4-0 Viterbo run that pushed them ahead 14-12 with five-straight points to reclaim the lead at 17-14. STU held Viterbo without a run of consecutive points for the rest of the frame.
- Set 3 – St. Thomas held their opposition without a run greater than three for the entire third set to complete the sweep.

- Set 1 – The Bobcats raced out to a 5-0 lead and held onto the lead until a 4-0 MBU rally propelled the host to a 26-24 triumph.
- Set 2 – Trailing late in the second set 21-16, STU rallied to get within one at 23-22 and fended off two sets points before the Spartans ended the frame and took a 2-0 overall lead.
- Set 3 – Trailing for the majority of the third set, the Bobcats used a 7-0 run to force set point at 24-21 before taking the frame at 25-22.
- Set 4 – Facing an 18-9 deficit midway through the fourth set, Stu scored six-straight points to get within three before knotting it up at 23-all. The Bobcats fended off match point and scored three-straight to force a fifth set.
- Set 5 – The Bobcats used a 3-0 run midway through the tiebreaker set to take an 8-6 advantage, only for Missouri Baptist to end the night scoring nine of the final 10 points.
NOTEWORTHY (GAME 2):
- Raya Mlyakova boasted 22 kills on a .340 hitting percentage, adding 12 digs for a double-double.
- Payton Bertke logged a double-double behind 46 assists and 10 digs.
- Fabiana Mucciola anchored the defense behind 26 digs.

- Set 2 – Playing from behind for most of the second set, STU took their first lead of the frame at 24-23 before winning the stanza on the ensuing point.
- Set 3 – Despite never trailing in the third set, Midland needed 11 set points to force a fourth frame.
- Set 4 – After splitting the opening 36 points of a fourth set that saw neither team hold a lead greater than three, the Bobcats scored back-to-back points to take a 20-18 lead and kept the advantage for the rest of the frame.
