Miami Gardens, Fla. – After building the St. Thomas University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving programs into national contenders, Head Coach Caesar Asadi has been appointed by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Council for Student-Athletes as the Swimming & Diving Coach Representative. His two-year term is set to begin in October.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to serve," Asadi said. "This is a position that will allow us to lead the conversation surrounding swimming & diving at the NAIA level, in a time where Olympic non-revenue sports hang in uncertainty with the House v. NCAA case."
The purpose of the CSA is to Engage in ongoing research, education and collaboration that will benefit the health, safety and development of the student-athlete, commit to ensuring NAIA student-athletes train and compete in a safe and healthy environment and pursue outcomes that include the development and delivery of services, programming and rules recommendations to assist NAIA student-athletes in achieving success.

"I look forward to continuing to advocate for a better experience for NAIA swimming & diving student-athletes." Asadi added.

A Bobcat pioneer, Asadi brought the school's first NAIA National Championship to campus in 2024 when he led the Men's program to the title. In just four seasons he has already developed over 60 NAIA All-Americans with over 20 individuals winning their events on the National Stage.

He is the first member of STU to serve on the CSA, and the second-straight cycle the Sun Conference will have representation after former Southeastern SID Donnie Smith was part of the 2023-24 team.
