Miami Gardens, Fla. – Led by a defensive effort that held visiting Georgetown to single digit points for the first time since the 2021 season and over 100 yards under their season average on Saturday afternoon, the 14th ranked St. Thomas University Football Team prevailed 26-7 against sixth-ranked Georgetown College in the Sun Conference Game of the Week.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After 13 minutes of scoreless play to begin the contest, Zachary Alvarez converted a 25 yard field goal to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead with 1:44 left in the first quarter.
- Keely Watson connected with Jaden Fox Harrington to cap off a 60-yard drive to make it 10-0 with 10:01 remaining in the second quarter.
- David Hayes took the ball 34 yards to create a 17-0 lead at halftime.
- Georgetown got on the scoreboard with 13:10 remaining in the third quarter.
- Alvarez made it 20-7 with a 26 yard field goal.
- Gary Rhett forced a Georgetown fumble that Elijah Henry recovered and took 40 yards to extend the Bobcats' lead to 26-7.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Watson went 21-42 for 213 yards and two touchdowns.
- Dreylan Martin ran for 95 yards.
- Hayes caught seven receptions for 88 yards.
- Tyquan Hunter had an interception that he returned for 62 yards.
- Jeremiah Laguerre had a team-high eight tackles.
