Miami Gardens, Fla. – Heading into the second quarter of Wednesday afternoon's Sun Conference contest in a one-possession game, the St. Thomas University Women's Basketball Team outscored visiting New College of Florida 46-15 over the ensuing 20 minutes en route to a 76-48 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Trailing midway through the first quarter 5-4, the Bobcats quickly reclaimed the lead behind a 10-0 run before a triple a jumper back-to-back for NCF made it 14-10 after 10 minutes.
· St. Thomas opened the second quarter with back-to-back while holding the Mighty Banyan without a run of consecutive baskets for the entire stanza to boast a 35-20 lead at halftime
· STU limited New College of Florida to a game-low seven points during the third quarter to extend their lead and kept it above 20 for the rest of the contest.
NOTEWORTHY:

Maddie Scharrenberg paced the offense behind 14 points on 5-10 shooting.

Sarei McGill tied for the team lead in scoring with 14 points on top of a team-high seven rebounds, five off the offensive glass..

Samantha Vales added 11 points and six steals.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· STU went 32-84 from the field, 10-31 from beyond the arc and 2-2 from the free throw line. NCF went 17-49, 8-23 from three and 6-12 from the free throw line.
· St. Thomas held a 48-38 advantage in rebounds.
· The Bobcats forced 25 turnovers, resulting in 30 points. The visitors scored eight points off 10 turnovers.
· STU recorded 19 steals and four blocks versus four steals and six blocks for New College of Florida.
