Kansas City, Mo. - On Thursday, the NAIA released their first National Selection Committee Men's Soccer Top 25. St. Thomas (4-3-1) is now ranked 10th in the NAIA.
This poll is different than the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, as the latest poll is voted on by the National Selection Committee members, who assign the at-large teams, seedings, and match pairings for the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. The criteria the National Selection Committee used for this poll are the same primary criteria they will use to evaluate for the postseason. This includes overall record, strength of schedule, and other metrics.
Despite being a game above .500, the Bobcats have played one of the toughest strength of schedules. According to the ratings percentage index, another primary criteria for the selection committee, the Bobcats have played the fourth-toughest strength of schedule in the country. They have faced #7 Life, #T-14 Faulkner, and NCAA Division I Florida International this year in non-conference play.
St. Thomas returns to action Saturday, October 3, as they will travel to Ave Maria. The game is scheduled for 11:00 am.
