Miami Gardens, Fla. – On the heels of his second start with the St. Thomas Baseball Team, the Bobcats'
Diego Evans repeated as the NAIA Ball Pitcher of the Week. It is the first time in NAIA Ball history that a pitcher has earned the weekly nod in consecutive weeks.
Evans stifled visiting Oakland City in the second game of the Bobcats' three game series with the Mighty Oaks, keeping the opposition off the scoreboard for six frames while striking out 10 batters and only allowing one hit in an eventual 2-0 triumph.
On the season, Evans leads the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) with 22 strikeouts and ties for the most wins on the mound with two in 12.0 innings which ties for the fifth-most while currently being one of just two pitchers to log double-digit innings and hold a 0.00 earned run average.
The Bobcats open a four-game series against Brewton-Parker College on Thursday, Feb. 5 with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
