Bobcats Cruise to 4-0 Win on Senior Day vs Florida National

MIAMI GARDENS, FLA (APRIL 10, 2026) - Both Men's and Women's tennis cruised to comfortable 4-0 wins on senior day as they took on Florida National University on Friday afternoon.

Here is how the action unfolded:

MEN

The Bobcats came out sharp in doubles play, capturing the opening point by winning two of three courts. The duo of Arthur Bugeaud and Mariano Alberto Hasenhkopf delivered a dominant 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, while Maxime Navrotchi and Pierluigi Cruypenninck followed with a 6-4 victory at No. 3 to seal the doubles point.

In singles action, St. Thomas continued to control the match with decisive performances across the lineup. Mariano Alberto Hasenhkopf set the tone at No. 1 singles with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 straight-sets win. Ivan Menendez added another point at No. 2 singles, bouncing back after dropping the first set to win 6-4, 3-6.

The Bobcats also got key contributions from Jan Gewaltig at No. 4 singles, who cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory, and Pierluigi Cruypenninck at No. 5, who closed out a 6-0, 7-5 win to help put the match out of reach.

Despite a pair of singles wins from Florida National, including efforts at No. 3 singles, the Bobcats' depth and dominance across multiple courts proved to be the difference.

WOMEN

St. Thomas established control early by sweeping the doubles point. The tandem of Sezin Akin and Sachely Carrera led the way with a dominant 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while Caterina Antonini and Jenesie Burgos followed with a 4-2 unfinished result. Doubles line 3 was forfeited, so the Bobcats took the doubles point.

In singles play, the Bobcats carried that momentum across the lineup with multiple strong performances. Alicia Andres Rodriguez delivered one of the most commanding wins of the day at No. 3 singles, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory, and singles 5, 6, and were forfeits, so Alicia's match was the only match to clinch.

The Bobcats will now travel to Ave Maria, Fla to take on the Ave Maria University Gyrenes in the final match of the regular season tomorrow, Saturday April 11.

The match will begin at 11AM
