Miami Gardens, Fla. — St. Thomas University announced Friday the continuation and expansion of its partnership with Learfield's licensing division CLC, the nation's leading collegiate trademark licensing company, reinforcing the university's commitment to strengthening its brand, enhancing trademark protection, and creating new opportunities for officially licensed merchandise.

The expanded agreement builds upon a successful relationship between STU and CLC and positions the university to capitalize on its growing national profile through enhanced licensing strategies, retail development and brand management initiatives.

"As St. Thomas University continues its growth and with our success, it's important that our brand strategy evolves alongside that momentum," said Bill Rychel, Senior Vice President for Athletics. "Together, we'll create new opportunities to connect with students, alumni, fans, and supporters while increasing the visibility and value of the STU brand nationwide."

CLC represents more than 700 colleges, universities, athletic conferences, bowl games, and related organizations nationwide. Through this expanded partnership, STU will continue to benefit from CLC's expertise in licensing administration, trademark enforcement, merchandise development, and retail expansion.

The enhanced licensing program is expected to increase the availability of officially licensed STU merchandise through online platforms, the campus spirit shop, and various retail partners while ensuring quality, consistency, and protection of the university's trademarks.

Rychel said the partnership aligns with the university's broader strategy of leveraging its growing visibility to create sustainable revenue opportunities.

"As our institution continues to gain recognition on a national level, we see tremendous potential to further strengthen the Bobcat brand," Rychel said. "This expansion with CLC positions us to maximize those opportunities while generating resources that support our students, athletic programs, and the overall mission of St. Thomas University."
