Men’s Soccer Opens Sun Conference Play With Ranked Win Over Keiser

Miami Gardens, Fla. - After scoring their most goals against Keiser since 2016, St. Thomas Men's Soccer (4-3-0, 1-0-0 Sun) defeated #11 Keiser (5-2-0, 0-1-0 Sun) 4-0 in their first Sun Conference game of the season.

Entering the game until the 31st minute, Oscar Le Guillou had his second multi-goal game of the season. In the 39th minute, Le Guillou broke the scoreless tie to give the Bobcats the lead. Albert Feixas was credited with the assist on the first goal. Le Guillou had his second goal of the night in the 56th minute to give St. Thomas the 2-0 advantage, with this goal assisted by Yule Amini and Julien Laborde.

A couple of minutes after Keiser had a player sent off for a red card in the 71st minute, Angelo Bernardes gave St. Thomas a 3-0 advantage on an unassisted goal. The Bobcats scored their fourth goal of the night from Lucas Caferra, who was assisted by Luca Heusser.

Matias Fuentes posted the first collegiate shutout of his career. Fuentes made four saves against the Seahawks. The Bobcats defense did a good job limiting shot opportunities from Keiser, as they only had nine total shots while entering Saturday's game averaging over 19 shots per game. St. Thomas had 17 shots this game, with 10 of them being on goal.

St. Thomas returns to action on Wednesday, September 30, as they will make the couple minute drive north to Dr. Lester Brown Park in Miami Gardens to play a road contest against Florida Memorial. The game is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
