MIAMI SHORES, FL – The St. Thomas University Bobcats drop away game versus the Barry University Buccaneers by a score of 3-1. The Bobcats got great pitching throughout the game, but the Buccaneers pitching was a little better. The loss drops the Bobcats overall record to 8-16 and 5-5 in The Sun Conference.
The Bobcats struggled to get hits against Barry getting only 6 hits and one run.
Lance Larimer was the lone Bobcat who had a multi-hit game going 2-4 with a RBI, that hit scored
DePhillip Mason who got on with his lone hit.
Alexander Diez,
Oswaldo Troconis, and
Gregory Gomez each got a hit for the Bobcats.
The Bobcat pitching was very good in the game allowing only 7 hits and 3 runs. 2 of those runs came in the 8th inning off a 2-run single.
Daylan Gil pitched 2 innings allowing only 2 hits,
Miguel Hernandez pitched 2 innings and only allowed 1 hit.
Robert Reina pitched 1 inning and allowed 1 hit, and Wesley Morejon pitched a perfect 0.2 innings.
The Bobcats are back on the field on Sunday. Franklin Pierce University will be traveling to St. Thomas to play a double-header with the first game starting at 12:00 pm. Both games will be played at home at Frank R. Esposito Stadium.
