BOCA RATON, FL – The St. Thomas University Bobcats lose a late inning thriller versus Lynn University by a score of 7-6. The Bobcats trailed entering the 9th inning 4-2. The Bobcats put together a rally and scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th to take a 6-4 lead. Lynn then responded with 3 in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game. The loss drops the Bobcats overall record to 11-21 overall and 4-5 in The Sun Conference.
The Bobcats were able to out hit Lynn University 11 to 10 but were unable to hold them off in the bottom of the 9th. Lynn has been a tough match up for the Bobcats all year as they have won all three meetings so far this season. The Bobcats had 3 different players who had multi-hit games.
Lance Larimer went 2-5 with a run scored.
Kyle Radziewski went 2-4 with a RBI.
Anthony Angulo went 2-3 with a run scored and 2 walks.
Alexander Diez went 1-4 with 2 RBIs and a walk.
Pitcher
Nick Loden got the start for the Bobcats going 4.1 innings and allowing 5 hits and 4 runs (only 2 earned).
Miguel Hernandez then came in to relieve Loden. Hernandez pitched a stellar 3 innings allowing only 1 hit and no runs, he also had 2 K's and 2 walks.
Jesus Blanco was credited with the loss in the 9th inning. Blanco pitched 1 inning and allowed 4 hits and 3 runs.
The Bobcats will be back in action this weekend in a conference battle against Edward Waters College. It will be a 3-game series that will kick off on Friday night (March 27) at 6:00 pm. The second game of the series will start at 12:00 pm on Saturday (March 28) with the series finale to follow. The series will be played at home at Frank R. Esposito Stadium.
