MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The #13 Bobcats are ranked higher than they have been in Coach Carrington's years at St. Thomas. Unfortunately, the Bobcats couldn't get the edge over the #4 Embry-Riddle Eagles in some close matches Friday and fell 8-0.
In doubles action, Adrian Escarate and Esteban Mesa grabbed a sing game and fell 8-1, while Frederico Acevedo and Andrew Rifkin got three winners before falling 8-3. Gonzalo Gayoso played a very well in the second singles match forcing a tie break at 6-6, but fell in three sets. Mesa, also, played strong in singles action forcing three sets, but could not overcome the strong play of the Eagles.
The Bobcats fall to 2-2 (2-1 TSC) and will welcome Webber Int'l Friday at 10:30 a.m.
