Box Score MOBILE, ALA - (MAY 12, 2026) -  The St. Thomas University Bobcats men's tennis team battled its way to a thrilling 4-3 victory over William Woods University on Wednesday, overcoming an early deficit in doubles play with a dominant singles performance.

William Woods secured the doubles point after victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. The Bobcats earned their lone doubles win at No. 2, where Arthur Bugeaud and Mariano Alberto Hasenhkopf defeated Cole Horton and Tobias Hajek, 6-2.

Trailing 1-0 entering singles, St. Thomas responded with four strong victories across the lineup to clinch the match.

At No. 1 singles, Mariano Alberto Hasenhkopf set the tone with a commanding 6-2, 6-3 victory over Duarte Melo. Arthur Bugeaud added another point at No. 3 singles, defeating Noah Burton in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0.

The Bobcats continued to build momentum at No. 5 singles as Pierlugi Cruypemmimck earned a clinching  7-5, 6-3 win over Thomas Geukemeijer, while Maxime Navrotchi also won s with a decisive 6-2, 6-1 victory against Aoi Ooka at No. 6 singles.

The Bobcats will now look to round 2 of the NAIA tournament as they face Georgia Gwinett on Wednesday, May 13 at 9AM.
