Miami Gardens, Fla— The St Thomas Bobcat Baseball Team lost their mid week matchup with conference opponent Northwood University by a final of 6-4. The Bobcats at one point held an early 3 run lead but were unable to hold on for the victory. Osmani “Ozzy” Sanchez led the way for the Bobcats going 3 for 5 with 2 r.b.i.
The Bobcats did all of their damage in the second inning scoring four runs on five hits but the did stranded. The inning got to a hot start with Roberto Rodriguez tripling and then scoring on Kevin Mirabal's single. Mirabal then scored on a Ruy Rodriguez single. Later in the inning with the bases loaded Ozzy Sanchez hit a single and plated the final 2 runs on the night.
Starting pitcher John De Persio was pulled after 2 and 1/3 innings pitched after loading the bases making way for Jeff Lara. Lara would get out of the jam in the 3rd but was unable to keep the Northwood bats at bay. Lara would earn the loss on the night yielding 4 runs on 6 hits through 5 innings of work
