Miami, Fla— The STU Bobcats returned to action on Wednesday night to face cross-town opponent Florida International. The Bobcats were unable to plate any runs as they fell to FIU 8-0.
Hector Bello, Ruy Rodriguez and Danny Sanchez paced the Bobcats offensively as all three had multi- hit nights. The glaring statistic from the night was that the Bobcats stranded 10 runners on base through the night.
Corey Estrada picked up the loss for STU as he pitched 3 and 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. He ran into trouble in the fourth inning after tossing 3 scoreless innings. Another bright spot for the Bobcats pitching staff was that Anthony Perez was able to continue his solid pitching late in games as he pitched a scoreless ninth.
STU will be on the road again this weekend as the play a 3 game series at Southern Polytechnic State University.
