Miami Gardens, FL— The STU Bobcats ended their Spring Break on a high note taking two games of a three game series from the Fire of Southeastern.  The Bobcats took the first two games 4-0 and 11-1 respectively before falling 3-2 in the series finale.

In game 1, Manny Perdomo and Andre Colon lead the Bobcats from the mound as they combined for a 4-hit shut out.  Perdomo started the game pitching six strong innings striking out five batters and scattering three hits.  Colon came on in relief in the top of the seventh facing only one more batter than the minimum giving up one hit and striking out two.

Offensively the help was spread throughout the order with two Bobcats, Yasel Gomez and Ricky Claudio, having multi-hit affairs and all four runs batted in came from four different players, Y. Gomez, Dayron Gomez, Hector Bello and Ozzy Sanchez.

Game 2 was an offensive outburst from the Bobcats bats.  Ozzy Sanchez lead the way with a double, single and three runs batted in.  Three other Bobcats, Michael De Jesus, Ari, Sosa and Robert Rodriguez, had two runs batted in a piece.

The Bobcats got off to a hot start plating seven runs in the first three innings.  In the first they managed to scored three runs on four hits and in the third they scored four runs on an additional four hits.

Michael Arostegui pitched the complete game tossing seven innings striking out two and scattering six hits and one run.  The game was shortened due to the mercy rule.

In game 3 the Bobcats were unable to sustain any kind of rally and fell 3-2.  Elio Rey had a good game going 4 for 2 with two doubles a run scored and a run batted in.

The Bobcats improved to 10-17 (6-4) on the season.  They travel to Daytona this weekend to take on conference rival Embry-Riddle for a 3 game series.  Go Bobcats!
