Boca Ration, FL— In a game shortened due to thunderstorms St Thomas was unable to pull out the victory against the Fighting Knights of Lynn University. Ozzy Sanchez reached base in all three at bats going 2 for 2 with a walk, while accounting for both RBI in the 7-2 loss. Manny Perdomo suffered the loss for STU giving up 6 runs on 8 hits through 3 and 1/3 innings of work.
The Bobcats were able to land the first blow scoring their 2 runs in the top half of the 3rd inning. After Andre Colon and Ricky Claudio were able to reach base Sanchez came to the plate. The first two pitches were balls giving him a hitter's count. He got the pitched he got the pitch he wanted and drove a double to center, which scored Colon and Claudio.
Unfortunately it was not enough for the Bobcats as the Knights responded in the bottom halves of the 3rd and 4th coming through with 3 hits and plating 3 runs in each inning. The game was called after 6 innings due to the inclement weather.
The Bobcats return to conference action Wednesday hosting Ave Maria at 6pm. Come out and support your Bobcats.
