Giovanni Zayas hit a game-winning, walk-off double to score
Lazaro Sainz as 12th ranked St. Thomas (32-9, 15-6) defeated No. 6 Embry Riddle (33-12, 17-5) by the score of 4-3 on Friday night at Frank Esposito Stadium.
The Bobcats were held scoreless throught the first six innings, before an RBI single by
Hector Acosta scored Alex Carrillo to get teh Bobcats on the board. Shortstop
Luis Jimenez hit a two-run home run scoring left fielder Nick Perez to tie the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth, setting up the walk off heroics in the ninth.
STU pitching kept the Bobcats in it as starter

Ricky Claudio and closer
Dane Stone combined to hold the Eagles to three runs on five hits. Bulluck, making the first start of his STU career, allowed two runs on four hits with five strikeouts and no walks in six innings. Claudio allowed just one hit over two innings, before handing the ball to Stone who sat down the three batters he faced in the top of the ninth to earn the victory.
The Bobcats and Eagles will do battle again on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon. With a sweep, the Bobcats can take sole possession of first place in The Sun Conference.
