MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Led by a heroic effort from sophomore
Matias Dasso, the St. Thomas men's tennis team upset NCAA D-I Bethune-Cookman by the score of 5-2 on Saturday at the Bobcat Tennis Courts.
Dasso clinched the team win by winning a third-set tiebreaker 7-5. Enduring severe cramping, Dasso earned the win in a marathon match that last over two hours.
Dasso also paired with senior
Arturo Romero for a key doubles win by the score of 8-5. Earlier in the week, Matias and Romero won in doubles against NCAA D-I Florida Atlantic to give him an overall season record of 3-0.
