Box Score Game 1: STU 10, FL Memorial 0 (7 innings)

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - In a three-game Sun Conference series between St. Thomas and Florida Memorial, the Bobcats took game one by the score of 10-0 on Friday night at Bobcat Field. The game was called after seven innings due to the 10-run rule.

Eddie Cody (3-0) remained perfect on the season after allowing just two hits in the shutout. Cody pitched the entire seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. It marked Cody's second shutout of the year as he lowered his ERA to 0.47 through 19 innings pitched this season. It also marked the second time this season that Cody has not allowed a walk. On the year, he has 23 strikeouts to just one walk. Through three appearances, Cody is averaging 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings.

The game was tied through 3.5 innings until the Bobcats busted out with a four runs ignited by a RBI-double by Brandon Canizares. STU pushed one run across in the fifth and the sixth, then finished off the Lions on RBI-singles by Edwin Medina and Eric Santamaria.

Five different Bobcats had multiple-hit games: Santamaria (3-5, 2 RS, RBI), Canizares (2-4, Double, RS, 3 RBI), Medina (2-5, RS, RBI), Oscar Aguirre (2-4, Double, RS) and Bryan Bermudez (2-3, 2 RS).

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas swept Florida Memorial in a three-game Sun Conference series by winning both games of a doubleheader on Saturday at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.

In game one, Emilio Ogando (3-0) struck out nine batters and walked none in a three-hit seven-inning shutout over the Lions. Coming off a 15 strikeout performance at Northwood last weekend, Ogando has an incredible 24 strikeouts and no walks over his last 14 innings.

Center fielder Adam Duarte hit a home run and four different players hit doubles as the Bobcats scored in six of the seven innings played in the game which was called after the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule.

St. Thomas rallied back from an early two-run deficit in game two of the doubleheader scoring one run in the fourth and sixth innings to tie the game at 2-2. Oscar Aguirre hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for the game-winner.
