Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Despite a six-run fifth inning powered by a grand slam by Jerry Downs, St. Thomas fell to Barry 9-6 on Tuesday night at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.  With the loss, STU fell to 22-12 while NCAA DII Barry improved to 18-11.

Barry jumped out to an 8-0 lead through 4.5 innings before the Bobcats rallied back with six runs in the bottom half of the fifth highlighted by a towering grand slam by Jerry Downs over the right field fence.

The Bobcats would go scoreless however over the final four innings and the Bucs added an insurance run for the 9-6 final score.

STU returns to conference play with a three-game series vs. South Carolina Beaufort beginning Friday at 6 p.m. at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.
